Sleep for stress

My family and I have been busy with my dad in the hospital. It's been close to two months and sadly is taking a turn for the worst. While the days are long and busy being in the hospital with Dad, family and friends. Reflecting on all the good memories is good for the soul, but lest we forget the added stress of conversations with Doctors and the fear of the unknown and the inevitable.

It's easy to say sleep would be the first element in life to be sacrificed. I flipped that paradigm on it's head and made it the priority! Well, second priority. Let me tell you! It's been the best thing I could do in this situation. Making sure that I'm sleeping well has been amazing. I'm restored for the day to handle all the added stress. The long days are draining, but being restored has prepared me for these days. It's allowed me to be emotional and strong when I need to.

I can't stress enough, the importance of good sleep hygiene in these times.

Love this Brad, we often lose track of the fundamentals we NEED to stay functioning during times of stress when we should be doing the opposite. You're setting a great example for all members of your family as well as all the members of this forum. Sending love your way <3
