Sleep effects on Mental Health
I found this article interesting as it highlights the importance of getting consistent quality sleep in order to maintain quality mental health. One of the major lines that stuck with me was the profound effect that poor quality sleep can have, and the increased likelihood of depression. "People with insomnia, for example, are 10 times more likely to have depression and 17 times more likely to have anxiety than the general population. Sleep apnea raises the risks of these conditions about threefold." We all must stay mentally strong, and clearly, the effect on all around mental health derives from a base of getting consistent in our approach to sleep.
