The Power of the Downstate by Sarah Mednick, PhD

Dr. Mednick does an incredible job of providing some serious detailed information surrounding the neural correlates of slow wave sleep with more physiological biomarkers, like heart rate variability. She describes how our minds and bodies can sometimes be in a state of stress and acitivity (Rev) and how we need to take time to balance those states with others of more chill, relaxed periods (Restore). This is a wonderful book for someone who is looking to both understand, on a neurobiological level, their own sleep along with tips for how to improve sleep. Highly recommend!!
The Terminal List
Anything that Jack Carr writes is awesome! He and Chad Robichaux are my two favorite authors.
Phoenix Revival by Kegan โSmurfโ Gill
I may be a bit biased, but โPhoenix Revival: The aftermath of naval aviationโs fastest survived ejectionโ is a powerful read. While the ejection story is wild, the healing journey is full of practical wisdom and resources anyone can apply to their life. I hope you enjoy it!
